I am sending you a referral regarding Kevin Hawes of Assured Homes Inspections. Kevin had been referred to us previously when we were looking for a good home inspector. We had the pleasure of meeting Kevin for the first time on Wednesday March 18 2009 when he conducted a home inspection on a property we were in the process of purchasing.Kevin began his inspection at 8:00am and had completed all the outside work by the time we arrived at 9:30am. We spent the rest of the morning with him inside the house. We were impressed by his diligence and thoroughness. His knowledge of building structure, internal systems and codes of practice seemed comprehensive with an inside knowledge of historical problems that could possibly occur. He demonstrated the controls and settings for all the household heating and water systems giving advice and warnings as appropriate. I watched him investigate the evidence of a past water leak until he was satisfied that there was no present problem. He pointed out many things that were new to us. At the end of the hands-on inspection he checked the outside facing walls and ceiling with a very high tech and expensive infrared camera looking for the absence of insulation and any other anomalies. At about 12:15 we, (and our Realtor) sat down with Kevin who he gave us a comprehensive verbal report on the inspection. He followed closely his typed notes, printed moments before on a mobile printer. The notes also contained recommendations and requirements for us to follow, much of it recommendations to serve our own interests.We were given a binder containing information from house maintenance to a broad range costing scale for many projects.That evening I received an email containing a full inspection report with digital photographs highlighting the individual points found on the inspection.My wife and I can highly recommend Kevin Hawes of Assured Homes Inspections as a professional and worthwhile investment in home inspecting.

Kevin Hawes from Assured Home Inspections was professional, thorough and completely worth the investment. I figure he saved me about $40 to $50 thousand on the first house I put an offer on, but which I did not purchase.
